This site is run by LUXE Protection Films. We built it to show you our film and to introduce you to the Fremont shop we trust to install it.
The Detail Hut is its own independent business. They quote your car, book your appointment, do the work and stand behind it. We stand behind the film. It is a simple split, and it means you always know who to call.
The Detail Hut also has its own website, which covers everything else they do. This page is the LUXE side of the story.
Manufacturer and brand owner. Makes the film, publishes the specifications, administers the applicable product warranty, and owns and maintains this website.
Independently owned and operated installer. Performs, prices, schedules and warrants its own installation workmanship.

A Fremont shop, since 2018.
The Detail Hut opened in 2018 and has built its name on Teslas, EVs and luxury cars, which makes sense in the city where so many Teslas are built.
You will find the shop on Clipper Court, tucked between Fremont Boulevard and I-880. Inside, the bay is lit end to end so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

Is The Detail Hut part of LUXE?
No. The Detail Hut is an independently owned and operated business. LUXE Protection Films manufactures the film and selected The Detail Hut as a LUXE ELITE Installer for this area. That designation does not create common ownership, a partnership, a franchise or a joint venture. The Detail Hut sets its own prices, runs its own schedule and warrants its own workmanship.
Why does this website exist if The Detail Hut already has one?
This site is owned and run by LUXE. It shows the film we make and connects you with the shop that installs it locally. The Detail Hut's own website covers their full business, including services LUXE has nothing to do with. Both are worth a look: thedetailhut.com.
What is paint protection film, in plain terms?
A clear or colored urethane film applied over your paint. It takes the road debris, stone chips, scratches and UV exposure that would otherwise hit the paint. Gloss Is Boss and Stealth Matte are 7.8 mil, with a self-healing surface: minor scratches and scuffs repair themselves.
What is the difference between clear PPF, Stealth Matte and Color Series?
Clear film (Gloss Is Boss) protects the paint and leaves the color you already have. Stealth Matte protects and changes the finish from gloss to matte. Color Series changes the color of the car entirely, with paint protection and the same self-healing surface built into the film.
Should I protect a new Tesla before I drive it much?
Earlier is better, because film can only protect paint that has not been chipped yet. Put your delivery date in the form and The Detail Hut can plan around it.
Who covers the warranty?
Two separate things. Gloss Is Boss carries a 10-year limited warranty administered by LUXE Protection Films, the manufacturer. Other films carry their own current terms. The quality of the installation is warranted by The Detail Hut. Ask them for the documentation that applies to the product you choose.
Does The Detail Hut only install LUXE?
No. The Detail Hut is an independent shop and offers other products and services. This site markets LUXE products installed by The Detail Hut. If you want something outside the LUXE range, ask them directly.
Do I need to bring the car in for a quote?
Not to start. Year, make, model and a few photos are usually enough for The Detail Hut to come back with a number and talk through coverage options. They may want to see the paint before confirming a final price.
